Licenses and Insurance

Tournament Participation and License Requirements

  • Adults playing in the H11 category of men's and women's SM tournaments must obtain an SM license (includes Hockey5 SM license).
  • Adults playing in the H5 category of men's and women's SM tournaments must obtain the Hockey5 SM license (NEW!).
  • Players under 21 years old can obtain either a youth or junior license, depending on their age.
  • Other License Options:
    • Recreational license
    • Junior license
    • One-day license (for a single tournament or match)
  • All officials must obtain an officials' license.

License Period and Options

  • License period: April 1 – March 31
  • You can choose a license for:
    • The entire season
    • Summer or winter season separately (Winter season starts October 1, if you choose separate summer and winter licenses.)

By obtaining a license, the player or official agrees to comply with the association’s competition and disciplinary regulations.

Insurance

  • A Pohjola Sporttiturva insurance can be purchased along with the license.
  • If a player does not purchase insurance through the association, they must have equivalent insurance from another provider.
  • For players under 21 years old, the insurance provided by the association is mandatory for youth and junior licenses.
  • Insurance is purchased for the entire season but can be canceled at any time, with the remaining portion refunded.
